What are NDIS Conusmables?
NDIS Consumables are used to assist in managing personal disability related needs. Furthermore they are everyday use items, many of which are single-use and disposable. These items are there to support your Independence, Mobility, Health and Wellbeing. Consumables fall under the broad NDIS Core Supports Category.
What products can be purchased?
- Continence Products: Pads, Liners and Catheters.
- Assistive Technology - Mobility and Daily Living Aids: Reaching Sticks, Walking Frames, Wheelchair and No-Slip Mats.
- Wounds and Pressure Care: Dressings and Bandages.
- Nutritional Products: Modified Eating Aids and Food Preparation Products.
- Personal Care and Hygiene: Hand Sanitisers, Moisturisers, Oral Hygiene, Bed Sheets and Mattress Protectors.
- Home Modifications: These modifications will allow for easier access to your home. Moreover, creating a safe environment at home.
Please Note: All NDIS Participants have different needs and requirements. As a result, our Support Coordinators will look at your NDIS Plan. In doing that we will discover what products are best suited for your needs. In addition we will discuss with you the items that you are able to purchase with your NDIS Funds.
How does it work?
All the above categories of NDIS Consumable are there to help one way or another. Based on what is in your NDIS Plan, our staff will discuss your consumable options. This could mean that you fit into one or more of the categories shown above. After a meeting with yourself or the person that is being cared for we would have reached a conclusion. We would have established what the NDIS Participants preferences are and would have made preparations for the consumables order. The ordered consumable will then be delivered directly to the Participant, if there is heavy lifting required a Support Worker will be arranged to assist with this.
